Moments ago, the Supreme Court released its ruling on the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
With Chief Justice John Roberts writing for the majority, the Court upheld the individual mandate under Congress’s taxing power. The entire ACA has been upheld, including the Medicaid expansion, but the Court did limit the federal government’s power to terminate states’ Medicaid funds.
